The Photo Finish system uses a wide film format so that negative images are larger and print detail much more enhanced making close decisions more accurate.
The photo finish camera is positioned in a dark room elevated 6 mtrs above the track level and 40 mtrs or less from the winning line. A photo finish mirror on the winning line in line with the camera.
The system enables the judge to view the finish on a monitor screen in under 30 seconds. The picture of the result on the monitor screen comes direct from the negative , accordingly it is not necessary for a print to be made saving both time and material costs.
These quicker results allow for greater betting time thereby increasing turnover.
The system is also available with a "zoom in" feature which enables the judge to zoom in on the finish thereby allowing easy decision making of close finishes.
In December 1995 we updated our extensive range of technical equipment for the racing and sporting industries to include the revolutionary FinishLynx Digital Colour Photo Finish System.
As a result of our technical expertise together with our high volume of sales, we were in January 1997 appointed both "DIRECT DISTRIBUTORS" and "AUTHORISED SERVICE AGENTS" for THE FINISHLYNX SYSTEM."
The FinishLynx Colour Camera is the Highest Resolution camera available, taking 2000 images per second at 1000 pixels, each pixel one of 65,000 possible colours.
The Finish Lynx system incorporates a fully independent electronic timing system capable of recording times to ten thousandths of a second.
The Finish Lynx Digital Colour Photo Finish system is very user friendly and administers near instant results on a computer screen to the Judge eliminating wasted time spent waiting for negatives and prints to be developed and alleviating operator mistakes.
The system can be operated by the Judge or his assistant, thereby alleviating the need for a separate photo finish operator and there associated costs.
The system is able to store the finish image into computer memory allowing for easy scanning of the image and multi stage zooming to enhance close decisions. The system also provides finishing times and margins for each competitor in an event.
